Oil Pastels

I joined a little art club at the age of 12, and at the time I was really into oil pastels. I recently found a box, well what was left of it, and thought I’d challenge my former self. First of all, the set I had should be embarrassed to call itself pastels, and should’ve been more accurately named oil neons. Out of a the garish pallet I was left with 7 colors and since I was out of luck and missing red, my sketch for a field of poppies had to be become cosmos pink. Perhaps I should’ve tackled the same subjects and displayed them side by side, a before and after sort of thing, but somehow butterflies and dinosaurus are behind me now. Furthermore, how terrifying would it be to find out that I was better at this back then? I will admit this, I sure had a lot more patience for the medium and used to handle its lack of control much better. So this is my current attempt at oil pastels.
